Limu Huki for Pōʻaono, February 21st
Last Saturdayʻs huki total was 2136 lbs of invasive algae removed from the flats off Paiko beach.
Not bad for a skeleton crew ranging from approx. 10 to 12 people only and for pulling for only about 1 1/2 hours. The first hour we did some limu monitoring work. Was kind of cold out there yesterday. I can understand why some folks may have been stuck under the covers at home.
Big mahalo to those of you came out and braved the cold. Also, special mahalo to Donna Lipman & Dennis Handa for their kokua in logistics and setting up since TNC & DAR crews were not available for yestedays huki.
